Yanatas, Waulkenphast, Kalydor
Yanatas, Waulkenphast, Kalydor was the title of a talk given by author Jonathan Keates yesterday. The gilded glory of the Savile Club heard Jonathan give a fascinating talk on the ephemera of advertising in Victorian guidebooks. Examples taken from his own collection of guides showed us that, whatever we do, the Victorians were usually there first.
Incidently Yanatas is ‘The Remedy with the acrostic name’: ‘You Are Now Able To Avoid Sea-sickness’.
